Bike ride

Featured Replies

I'm going to Prapraedeng next week for a bike ride through the jungle.

Has got me thinking about a foldable bicycle, one which I can take onto the BTS.

Does anyone know of a good place they could recommend for a reasonably priced , even second hand, fold up bike?

Thanks

Maybe im just an idiot, but where is this "jungle scene", ..

Just moved to bangkok, from CM so i dont know a lot of the areas here yet ;-)

Tried to google, but only shows up some highway..

Couldnt delete my previous post, but found the place. 5 min from my apartment ;-)

Regarding your bike, why dont you simply get a mountain bike, and take off the front wheel, for saving room in the train..

Takes 2 minutes to get it back on..

It's a good idea just not sure the guards would buy it or if my fellow travellers would appreciate it. BTS can get pretty crowded as you've probably found out.

That's lucky about it being 5 minutes from your apartment! Laughing. First time for me next Tues. Think the nearest BTS is Saphan Thaksin is it? :-)

Depends where you live. Udomsuk and Bang Na BTS stations are close. Also, you have the added advantage of being able to use the ride-on ride-off ferry at Wat Bang Na Nok.

I live way out West of the city so the nearest Bts to me is actually Bang Wa. Don't have a bike. Yet :-)

This ferry is a great way to get across, at times i use it with the motorbike too,

Any idea what times the first and last ferry are? i was told the last ferry is about 7pm?

There is a ferry if you go to Bearing and take a right, long industrial road (about 6km) but the ferry crosses to the road that leads to the green area. 10 bht and 24 hours a day. The one by Bang na is much closer and likely the same price.

I did not know about that one. Which soi is that. From looking at the map there does not appear to be a soi across the road from Bearing that links to the river. Do you mean Phu Chao Samingprai in Samrong.

And this ferry takes motorbikes too?
