If you have an external USB drive, what could be easier than unplugging and then plugging in the other drive ?

Since USB specs include hot swapping, I do not think building a switch is worth the time for data drives/partitions. Obviously if you want to boot from the new drive you have to turn off the machine and that takes so much time a switch to save time is insignificant.
