yea, hey boss we made this farang pick up all the garbage on sukhumvit hahahaha

and then they made you pay a fine for working without a proper visa....doing laundry and picking up trash?

You are lucky...they did not ask you to drop your pants and bend over...

Maybe next week you will have to hold up a sign saying "It is illegal to knowingly spread the AIDS virus".  Won't that be a hoot as well?!

The last time a Thai cop took my picture, he was trying to pick me up. True story.

Stalked me, actually, over a period of two years. He built up a photo collection of me. At one point, I was apparently posted on a gay website and received several propositions on the phone.

Eventually, I had to black mail him to get him off me. He messed up when he sent me some gay porn. I told him if he ever bothered me again in any way shape or form I would send this to his boss and coworkers with a full account. That did the job, finally.

It's taken a long time for me to trust any male or female here again.

Diplomatico you should have asked for a fee to be the new poster boy! Actually I am not really joking.

But be sure to ask what the exact duties of the new poster boy are. To avoid any misunderstandings.....

LADY BOY COP?????  haven't seen one yet,did IT gave you IT's number ??

i don't believe this post, OP is making it up as he scribbles
They've been there years. I think it's 2000 baht for a cigarette end, same same for anything that might drop out of your pocket. If you are prepared to barter they will take you round the corner for a 200 baht pay-off. They pay special attention to those coming out of coffee shops who drop the stirring spatula. They have nice uniforms but what authority they have I don't know.

Hang on. So you're not fed up with Thailand after acting like an idiot for a prolonged period of time and you don't have any sanctimonious or bigoted slurs to throw at Thai culture and its people??

Oh, okay. So all is well then because you understand intercultural awareness, respect and mutually beneficial relationships? No problem—just checking.

I don't see any quoted posts so one presumes this is directed toward the OP.  So to respond politely:

a.  I haven't acted like an idiot for any amount of time, prolonged or otherwise.

b.  I have no sanctimonious or bigoted slurs to throw at the Thai culture or its people - or toward any people, for that matter.

c.  I fully understand intercultural awareness, respect and mutually beneficial relationships.

d.  No problem - just responding.

I was in Lucky Lukes at Nana Plaza sitting in the front row. I saw a high level BIB (don't know how to read his level) and a low level BIB enter the Plaza. The big guy walked over to me and asked if was enjoying myself and he had an accompanying photographer shoot a photo of us shaking hands. Better than being handcuffed but I was hoping for a copy. rolleyes.gif
