Finding a small house for rent for around 15000?

Featured Replies

How hard is it to find a small house (furnish) in quiet area with 2 bedrooms and perhaps a small garden for rent on Samui in the price range around 15,000 bath per month? I think it's outrageous prices here on Samui, but there must be something more affordable?

Having looked at some different websites that Thai Visa and Bath Sold, but costs too much for me and thewife. Will stay as cheap as possible to find out whether we will like Samui. We've only been on Samui 2 times previously on "vacation" for 3-4 days (we live in Khon Kaen).

We would like to rent 6-12 months.
Do you have any recommendations on where we should start looking? Where on Samui would you rented in this price range that offers the most bang for your buck?

Someone who can help us please?

Plenty of places in your price range. Best bet is to have a short holiday there. rent a bike and spend a few days riding around the island just looking. Stay clear of Chaweng and Lamai and there are some bargains to be had off the beaten track thumbsup.gif

yes almost half that amount of money, you can find decent places ... you need to look around... as said already... you will not find "online" ...

When they says "furnished", it is usually fairly basic stuff.... bed, sofa, table chairs etc....

Around me in Maenam, I have seen several new signs for houses for rent, lately,  that would be in the 8000 maybe 9000 baht a month rent. Long term renters will generally get a better deal.

If it has Aircon it could be a bit more... some places even include electric and water.... (mine does, for less than 8000 baht! )

Ask around and look! wink.png !

Come September, should be better too!

Why stay clear for Lamai and Chaweng ? smile.png

I rent a house in a peaceful area not far IT center Lamai (slightly outside Lamai) 2 rooms 2 air con a little garden where by the way we grow many things, Bt 12,000 a month,  since I pay in one payment one month free, so exactly Bt 11,000 a month, electricity I pay myself to the company in Chaweng, water Bt 200 a month.

Of course you wont find it on internet or any kind of adverts ! But my owner has 4houses in the vicinity, a cousin of her also 4 not far, same prices so why stay clear from Lamai, look every where. How did I found it, with Google earth: This little road we can go looking, and here and here are 2/3 houses and so on.

Stay optimist and you will find provided you have a little time of course. Good luck thumbsup.gif

Mom and pop stores are also generally a good avenue of enquiry.
