I'm looking to get a sak done within Bangkok city centre or as close as possible. I've been meaning to get one for ages. I'm looking to get one done for about 100 baht. I was recently blessed by a monk and some people were having one done but I didn't. I'm aware of what sak yant signifies etc so just looking for info please bore off with any preachy posts. No links please I can do that anyway, looking for a first hand account and recommendation. Cheers/khrub! :-)

Within Bkk, the days of cheap sak yant are gone, the cheapest you will pay is about 250 - 400 baht.

That is at places way off the tourist trail, please dont even consider going to On Nut soi 25, going rate for farang is about 1,000 baht.

If you are familiar with places such as Prasamut Chedi or Pra Pra Daeng, head there.

It's far easier to go to wat bang phra in Nakhon pathom district. This is the Mecca for sak yant tattoos and costs as little as the 75 baht donation for the flowers to give as a donation to the monk doing it. However, it is a good idea to put something in an envelope too so, with 100 baht in the envelope and the 75 baht donation, you are laying only 175 baht and know that the monks doing it are the same monks that do the same thing for the majority of sak yant wearers including some top officials, army, police, etc. Edited by Falcon

Hi Falcon. Had a look at this temple. Seems like it's THE place to go if you want a Sak Yant! I'm gonna go next week I think. I'm thinking if getting a minibus there, Victory Monument seems like the place to go. Have you been and how did you get there? Also from reading it seems like it's best to get there extra early. I'll most likely be going on a weekday. Is it busier at weekends would you know or always just with tourists etc? Thanks again for the post really informative. :-D
