Not receiving over the air digital broadcast on Samsung Series 6

Featured Replies

Just tried rescanning the roof top arial antenna input on our Samsung UA55D 6400 TV (2011) to locate the over the air digital broadcasts. It still only finds the analogue channels. Good reception here in SE BKK. All information I have is that the series 6 has a DTV tuner built in. I can't find anything to tell it to seek digital versus analogue, so assume it's automatic? I also tried a factory reset, but with the same results: no digital channels. Ideas?

Difficult to find specs on that unit, but from what I found your Samsung UA55D6400 only has a DTV/DVB-T (Terrestrial v1) Digital Tuner

Thailand is using the DVB-T2 (Terrestrial v2) for broadcasting so your set would require an external DVB-T2 STB.

Thanks RichCor. Never gave that consideration, but makes sense. Never even knew of this difference when purchasing. Oh well, another box.

Don't you also need a digital aerial for the digital TV?

Alone with digital power to power it too.  NO not needed all the time ..

I'm still waiting for the Digital Ready Speakers to come down in price as people adopt the new technology. tongue.png
