Minimum Salary In Thailand

Featured Replies

I am sorry if I have missed any information on the new minimum salary requirements for expats in Thailand starting in July but could someone please explain by nationality what they will be.

Thanks

cannot remember all but

europeans 50000 per month

usa & canada 60000 (why more)

filipinos 30000 or 35000

indian, japan etc i think 20000

Basically as low as they think they can get away with.

I pity the Indians.

Cheers DaveThailand. It was the Europeans and USA/Canada that I was after. I heard that there was a difference between Europeans and USA/Canada but I agree why is it more for USA/Canada? Anyone know........

Hi people,

I am planning to get a job in BKK. As a half Thai from Europe I found it very interesting to read about the minimum salary. Is this generally known with the companies? Is there any document I can fall back on in the salary neogotiations? Your help would be really useful. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the information Dave. Does anybody have a link listing the salaries by nationality? I am an Australian.

An Aussie is down to get 50,000 baht.

Japanese, Americans and Canadians 60,000b.

Europeans and Australians: 50,000b.

Koreans, Taiwanese, Hong Kong nationals, nationals of colonies of UK, British Singaporeans and Malaysians: 45,000b.

Indians, nationals of the Middle East, Chinese Indonesians, Philippine nationals: 35,000b.

Burmese, Laotians, Vietnamese, Ca,bodians, Africans: 25,000b.

Any foreign national in the newspaper: 20,000b.

It has been discussed in this thread:

New immigration rules from July, 2004

Don't forget the minimum salaries are designed with tax in mind not what people are actually entitled to be paid.

They are to ensure a minmum level of income tax is paid by business owners. Another way to try and stop people using dummy companies to own stuff in Thailand

And journalist's, irrespective of nationality, are down to get 25,000 baht. Heheheh at last someone recognizes their talents :o
