Authorised service provider for Apple is called Phuket Alpha  in Phuket town.

261 Thalang Road.

Tel 076 215796

The above are the people to see. I had a prob with my iPhone and brought it to Jungceylon, and they told me they wouldn't take care of it unless I bought it there. I asked where they had repairs done, and she told me about Phuket Alpha.

They have at least two locations, one of which is at Central Festival. They're good, and they looked at my phone which was still under warranty, and gave me a replacement no charge.

What is the issue? You don't have a copy of the Operating System? If you install 10.7 or later, there is a free upgrade to Mavericks available on the App Store. I think I have a copy of 10.7.2. Do you have a memory stick?

Yes Alpha Engineering is good for warranty repairs, otherwise they are rather pricey.

If in the future you have any problems with your Apple, there is an Apple engineer in Kata Beach, just beside the Fruit and Veg Market in the Patak Road, I have used them before they are excellent...

How is it possible to download for example Mavericks image? I tried this one (from Appstore) https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/os-x-mavericks/id675248567?mt=12 but after asking my credentials, nothing happens.

I'm currently running Mavericks and would like to have an recovery / clean install possibility in case something happens.

with the obvious reminder that it's critical to back up all your data to an external HD.
