One big disadvantage with Line version for Windows 8

Can I make Voice Calls from the Windows 8 version of LINE?
Sorry. The Windows version of LINE does not currently support the voice call function.

I don't understand why should people ask everything on this forum. It is easy man, if you want to know if it is possible to use Line on laptop or not, just try it out and see if it work. As simple as that. Or may be you want us to do the dirty work for you, ha ha ha 5555

After 10 years you get used to it lol. I installed LINE on my PC ages ago with no help from TV

90% of the stuff asked on here can be found more easy on Google, but people like first hand account I suppose

You can have line on a pc and phone at the same time.

However it doesn't work on iPad and phone as you will be logged out of other.

Love line though

How much did Facebook pay for Whatsapp lol, they backed the wrong horse

Globally, whatsapp is more popular, especially in western countries. Line is only really popular in Asia, and even in this region, Wechat i believe has more users because the Chinese use that app.

I think other person needs to register his email at LINE app on the smartphone before using it on LINE desktop. If he has no smartphone and still wants to use LINE on desktop, maybe try this?

Disclaimer: didn't try it myself and if it's against forum rules to post link, sorry.

Just downloaded that link and it didn't work out very well, got a load of stuff I didn't want and one bit not uninstalling for me. I'm a novice though at this stuff.

I think that might not be the official version ?

The official site is

http://line.naver.jp/

Just spotted that their download page has 2 windows flavours

Yes, you must download desktop line from official site, but my link is for android emulator (provided with disclaimer) if someone just had a dumb phone but still want to use line on PC.

Alternatively, if the link fails, you can always google search for 'android emulator'.

Sorry if I provided a bad link.

I just finished a voice call to America on my Windows 8 Laptop ... I called another LINE user...

LINE is superior to almost anything for sending photos. I favor Skype for video chats but Skype is a loser when it comes to sending photos... I used LINE routinely for quick transfers of photos between my phone and PC.

What's so hard about dragging n' dropping photos onto Skype, geez... as for transferring from your phone to PC, surely it's easier to connect your phone via USB to your PC... your way seems more complicated and transfers would take longer.

Once you've created the Android emulator and downloaded the Line software, register your gf's phone. You'll have to get the SMS message from her phone but with that code you'll be able to see her line chats to everybody in your emulator. If you're into spying, of course.
