Saddam Hussein is awaiting the verdict on his trial. An official enters his cell and says "Mr. Saddam, I have good news and I have bad news what do you want to hear first.

Saddam thinks for a moment and says" give me the bad news first". The official says " well, I am affraid you have been sentenced to death by a three man firiing squad". Saddam smiles

whistfully and asks" what is the good news?" The official looks awkwardly at Saddam, "well you have the right to pick the members of the firing squad". Saddam ponders his situation and asks

" how far away from me will the firing squad be standing?" The official checks his notes and replies " 12 yards". Saddam takes a pencil and writes down a list of the three people he wants for the firing squad and hands it to the official who reads it out aloud,

"Gerrard, Lampard and Carragher"
