What can I rent for 15k?

Featured Replies

I'm currently living in Phuket but considering a relocation to BKK.

Here I'm renting a pretty nice 2bd 130m2 house with a small garden in one of the best location of the island for 15k/month.

A quick study of the market tells me that for the same price, I can get a 50 sq.m. condo or a small house in a moo ban very far from the center in what seems to be flood areas. That's a proper letdown.

I know that prices are inflated on internet, more so in site accessible in english, so what can I realistically rent for this price? Is it possible to find a house not too far the center, or a decent apartment bigger than a shoebox for about the same rent?

Thanks

hi,

can you PM me the details too? looking for a studio 1BR in BKK with walking access to a BTS

For reference until recently I was living in the centre of BKK in walking distance of the BTS and airport link for 8,000B per month.

Not a brand new building but it was fine.

40sqm. Aircon. Hot Water. Fridge. Kingsize bed. Sofa and coffee table. Desk and chairs. Double wardrobe.

Big balcony.

Security, keycard, camera.

On site was swimming pool, poolside bar, gym, 2 laundry, 3 restaurants, 1 mini mart, 1 hairdresser, 1 massage.

Quiet soi but very close to many shops, 7/11s, bars, restaurants, shopping mall, cinema etc.

If you look you will find.

If you take the first and most obvious place you find you'll pay far too much,

What are the 'flood areas' of Bangkok?

About 90% of the housing in BKK is 15k or less. Big house with land, however, will be hard to find near BTS for that price.

40 sqm is really small. I noticed that prices went up very quickly as soon as you wanted something bigger.

I'm guessing don muang, min buri or other areas that were previously rice fields, but I don't really know.

That's good to know. I have never seen anything for less than 25k in dozens of real estate agencies websites.

I haven't live in thai before, may be i will move to bkk next week, so i need a detached house with price is lower than 30k, anyway, more cheap is more good, but what is the best choice i have? I need 2 bedrooms or more, small garden and base furnish

I need a house access to walk to bts, mrt, airport link too.

For a single person who spends 90% of his time out of the apartment it's really fine.

I wouldn't go any smaller but for me it was no problem.

i have a unit for rent that is very near bts :) loads of food and big tesco...

asking is less than 15k :) depending on rental tenure.. as low as 12.5k :)

i know i know.. i will probably post in the rental section.. haha
