Hi
I was wondering how you carry your passport with you ?
We were thinking of having some passport holders made and the hand painted to sell on Ebay etc
Do you carry it in your pocket , around your neck or in your purse / bag?
do you carry money or credit cards in the same holder ?
what would be important to you if you were buying a passport holder ?
I normally leave mine in the safe , and bring a copy with me , when I need to take it I have a pouch I put around my neck and then put the pouch inside my shirt.
Anyway I would be interested in your ideas

Thanks

The free plastic passbook holders Kasikorn bank give out are a perfect fit for passport and boarding pass.

Never thought of wearing one as a necklace.

I'll never carry it in a bag; button-down shirt pocket or inside pocket of a jacket.

On the way the airport , in my zippy front bit of my bag or case , at the airport top shirt pocket and it remains there until Ive boarded and then it goes into the pouch in front of me. Getting off its the same but in reverse order

My wife wears a leather backpack type purse when we are on the road.....in crowds she'll move it to the front.....we will either keep the PP in that purse or in a zipper pocket in my backpack while on the move.....generally I don't carry it around - so far no one has ever asked for more than my TDL when traveling in country.....usually in the hotel safe on day walk abouts - if someone wants it bad enough we can go back for it....when flying it stays on me.....all of my trekking shorts, travel slacks, and 3/4 legged pants have at least one zipper pockets and some have a hidden zipper pocket - I don't buy any others......

One of my worst fears is getting in water somewhere and forgetting I have my PP or phone in my pocket.....

So far - so good.....

Plastic pouches with a double sealed ziplock top and fold over snap buttons and an adjustable sturdy string for neck wear is available at beach front tourist shops in Ao Nang ... I bought one - thought I would hate to wear it -- but don't... It is waterproof - sweat proof and very difficult to lose...

We have a bunch from our beach travels too....+ some from Songkran both purchased and give aways.....always know right where they are - and always forget them - because handy for the phones around water....going to stick a couple of the good ones in the back pack right now.....

In my pocket..and it does show the wear and tear of being carried for four years now.

Got some dirty looks at immigration a couple of years ago after getting soaked at Songkran and presenting a passport with pages of "runny " ink stamps.

Funny thing...when aI explained it happened on Songkran, they laughed and it was no longer an issue.

It is now 2014/2557 and the technology is available to produce a durable water resistant passport.

The USA has found the money and technology to insert computer chips in the passports!

Why not store all of the information needed on a plastic card with a magnetic strip?

Durable, easy to care and conceal ( thieves do like to steal passports).

We pay a good price for a passport.

Why can't they produce one that is more durable and convenient to carry?

Wrapped in Aluminum Alfoil....Your chip then cannot be read with your details on......By someone with the gear to do it.

They already make a Passport holder that does exactly that.....thats where i got the idea from.....Cost of these are $16 AUS.

When I worked for the coalition armies in Iraq and Afghanistan I bought a canvas pouch with a neck string. I keep my passport and International shot records in it when traveling.

I have noticed I get strange looks from people. I guess they don't know what it is.

It has a plastic slip to hold government IDs also.

Plenty of passport holders already on the market, but sure why not have a go at selling something with a twist.

Our passports all go in a folder thingy and get zipped in the front of our carry on suitcase.

I had a great pp holder, till my brother lost it. It had several pockets for things like itinerarys, boarding passes, passport, cards. Was great for being organized. I like everything to be in the one place when travelling.

Thats a good idea isent it Willyumiii a simple credit card sized PP something that will

fit in a wallet/ purse, something totaly electronic with the little chip in it.

A swip and go deal, it would sure beat all these bloody stamps, save time and man power to,

They have this sort of check in at Australian airports useing the electronic PP.

Stamp free departure, Stamp free arrival.

You surely wear a tin hat also, right????

Data on chips in passports can NOT be read out without the passport being open and scanned by the reader device, this is NOT the same as with credit card RF Chips. Reading data on a passport chip needs an access certificate. This will be created by the passport reader from the passport number, the birth date of the passport holder and the expiry of the passport... and only then, the chip can be read.

Passport holders claiming protection against chip reading is complete bullshit, but obviously a good business model towards people wearing tin hats...

These are private matters.

Badgers, gerbils, ants and other mammals stay at home for self entertainment.

One day, I will allow you to share my experiences, provided you have been a good boy.

The plastic bags they give you at airport security to carry liquids in. I usually have it in a pocket, but in the bag as I'm a sloppy eater/drinker...

Otherwise I have one of those zip up pouches that you get when you travel premium.....(1st Class Actually), works great.
