My wife has applied for a partner visa only about 2 weeks ago

Now she Is applying for another visitor visa she is 2 months pregnant

So when she is in Australia and the visitor visa expires she will no longer be able to fly my doctor had informed me

What happens with her staying in Australia ....

Any personal experiences or advice would be great thanks

Kind of some experience, but first,

Don't they ask on the tourist visa app is there any reason you won't be able to return, or something like that?

I've done a few visitor visas, but can't remember.

Anyhow, my wife was in oz on a 9 month fiancee visa, and pregnant. I got that visa bridged straight onto a partner visa and lucky, cause she couldn't fly by then anyway.

Thing is mate, do not test out diac. They will put her on a boat home, or worse still, she will be giving birth in a detention facility and send you the bill. They show no mercy, especially when you guys knew the situation, and flouted the obvious.

Look, it's just my guess, you can try, please let us know what happens.

Congrats on the baby btw!

Edit to say, just doing the sums... applied 2 weeks ago, shes 2 months pregnant, say she gets a 3 month visa, she can't fly after 9 months pregnant.

Timeframe doesn't add up if she visits within the next 5ish months, stays for 3 months, and all goes as normal being pregnant, you're all good!

Great reason why she needs to return to Thailand.

I remember you saying your wife had some health issues.

has she received her visitor visa as yet? If so, does it have 8503 condition applied?

Ok thank you

Yes I know what you mean by don't <deleted> around with diac and I would hate to see something jeopardise her partner visa

I guess will just have to do some soul searching and see what we come up with

It's frustrating we are both in our early twenties trying to do everything correct and at a time where we should be just happy with the fact my wife's pregnant all I can think about is how we can try and stay together

Thanks

Back to your Partner Visa/Tourist Visa issue.

The first thing that rang an alarm bell for me was ...

"My wife has applied for a partner visa only about 2 weeks ago ... she is 2 months pregnant"

When she went for her Medical for the Partner Visa, she should have been asked if she was pregnant?

"Applicants for a permanent visa will be asked to undergo a medical examination, an x-ray if 11 years of age or older"

Did she have that Chest X-Ray?

Pregnant visa applicants and the chest x-ray requirement

The department does not recommend that a pregnant visa applicant undergoes a chest x-ray.

This is because there is a risk that a chest x-ray could harm the unborn child.

It is recommended that a pregnant visa applicant defers her chest x-ray, and therefore the decision on her visa application, until after the child’s birth.

A pregnant visa applicant should firstly contact the department to discuss her options, including the possible deferral of her visa application

Thanks krisb

And David no as she has not yet recieved anything asking for her to go for a medical

Our doctor in Australia has said that so long as it is after the first 3 months that with a led shield over her stomach it wouldn't be a drama

Thanks

Mate, if after two weeks you have not been requested to go for a Medical, I would be concerned.

Did you lodge it at the Embassy or with VFS?

Have you had email acknowledgement of the application?

My Partner got that email almost immediately and the request to go for a Medical within the week.
