US B1-OCS visa Bangkok Embassy

Featured Replies

I need to apply for a US B1-OCS visa. I am a UK national and I am wondering if anyone has applied and received a US work visa at the Bangkok embassy. I do not have a Thai visa, I use the visa exception system to enter Thailand.

On the US Bangkok embassy website it states that you should always try to apply in your home country but It can be done in another country but may not be successful or may take a longer period of time.

Obviously I would prefer not to have to fly back to London to apply, So im looking for any info that could help me decide whether to fly back to UK or give it a try in bkk

Here's what the U.S. Embassy in London has to say: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/visaservices/?p=877

But, since you are in Thailand, suggest you send a Q to the U.S. Embassy here and ask them what they think about your situation:

Email inquiries for both nonimmigrant and immigrant visas should be directed to: [email protected]
Explain your situation, upcoming employment, timing, and why it'd be better (for you) to do the visa here.

Cheers Mac,

I will fire a email of to the embassy in bkk.

I will actually be signing of in the US but probably just on a transit visa to get me out the country so I don't want to fly back to bkk and try to get the visa then find out I have to go to London. I also don't want to go to London unless I have to cause it will eat in to my break.

Hopefully the embassy will give me some answers
