so they can all line up everywhere... it makes the lunch to go so fast.

yes understand, staggered between 11am and 2pm would make it much easier for everyone....

blame the employers

Sort of, but the vendors prepare food for the twelve o'clock invasion. Depends where you are, but is standard practice in many countries.

Well in many companies like hours it is like that. Else no one would pick up the phone 12-1.

So that everyone can close at the same time.

Socialise by eating together.

It's a different business model from what we enjoy in the West.

It took a little adjustment for me to 'enjoy' it here though ... laugh.png

Not too different from the west I think. And Thais love eating, that's why you don't have to tell them twice to stop working and go eating.

Because if you didn't put a "time" on it they'd eat ALL day long - and still weigh 100 kilos pounds - pounds pounds 50 kilos w00t.gif .....

Thanks for pointing that out quickly.....

Thailand doesn't require anyone to be available to pick-up the phone 12-1 because no Thai would be silly enough to call during 12-1.

They eat at 12 midday because it is the only chance they get to eat after they have just finished breakfast, and will soon be busy preparing dinner.

In the West they sometimes rotate lunchtime a bit so they are staffed. This way many important businesses could be reached by other workers without having to do so during working hours and stealing from the boss.

This of course does not apply to everery business and in no way means im putting down the thai system.
