Just your passport or a Thai ID such as drivers license will do. They might also ask to see the credit card you used to book if you booked on their website.

Check in online up to 24 hours before departure and show printed boarding pass and photo ID.

Edit

Some airlines allow you to save to smart phone and then show this at check in. Not sure with Thai.

Sure, you get an SMS with the booking ID (same at Thai Smile).

For Thai/Thai smile and Nok I just show my frequent flyer card and passport to check in. I've never had a problem. I do keep a copy of the booking on my tablet but never been asked to show it.

When flying international on Thai/Gulf/Qantas etc I usually show my frequent flyer card plus the e-ticket or online check-in on tablet and don't have a problem.

I've only every printed out the E-ticket a couple of times in the past 5 years or so. This was in Bangladesh to show to security to gain access into the Airport, it wasn't required for check in.

Usually, once the e-mail confirmation and E-ticket are received I put it in my DropBox account, I can readily access the soft (digital) copy if needed.

That might be a problem if you cannot get online at the check-in (and Dropbox hasn't synced). I do the same but I copy it to a local folder on the tablet too. Have so far done it on Emirates and Air Asia but not Thai

I always have a copy of my itinerary with the record number and stuff like that on it, if nothing else to remind me what my flights and times are, costs etc. Last year I flew around Thailand on Thai air and also Bangkok air. At checkin you give them your passport and they give you a ticket. Everything was in the system. One flight I had booked and paid online, the other I had paid a travel agent and they did it. But I did not have to show or present anything. I suggest it is a good idea to have some paper though, just in case some things get mixed up. A receipt in hand can help with problems.
