How much is monthly rent for a jeep in Phuket?

Featured Replies

How much is monthly rent for a jeep in Phuket? Just the most basic jeep, can be open without doors, just for getting around, going to the supermarket etc.

Or, as I'll stay long-term, would it be better to buy a jeep?

Compared to renting a motorbike for around 2,500 baht each month, how much more would I need to pay for a jeep rental?

I saw a car in Chalong which was sold for 60,000 baht, seemed to be in good condition at least exterior. Could I get a second-hand jeep (basic model) for that price?

If I'll go for buying a jeep, let's say I stay in Thailand around 6 months each year, could I just park the jeep somewhere during the months I'm not in Thailand (6 months each year)?

I would be very careful buying a car for 60k. Used car prices in Thailand tend to run much high for a decent car. 60K? Either someone dropped a zero, or it’s a piece of shyt.

Do you really want an open air…also known as open for rain, sun and heat? Might be fun for a day or two, but it will get old, wet, and hot quickly.

I have seen some okay stuff for 300k. Don’t know about long term rent.

old suzuki jeep around 10k a month..

I highly doubt you can buy any decent used car for 60,000 Baht. And where would you 'just park it?" Unless you have a friend who has some room at their house, you can't just leave a car for months anywhere. Cars are much more expensive to register and insure than a motorbike. The cheapest way to go would be to buy a used motorbike. I bought two over 8 years ago and they both still work fine. One was 10,000 Baht the other was 13,000 Baht. But then again storage when you're gone is an issue, but probably easier to find a place to keep a bike than a car.
