Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB) where to buy?

I want to buy some compressed earth blocks. I used to buy them on Hang Dong Road between Hang Dong and Sanpatong but she doubled the price on me so now I am looking for another source.

What is the normal price per block? Does anyone know a place where these blocks are made, preferably south of Chiang Mai?

There's a factory about 10 km out of Chom Thong, towards Chiang Mai, on highway 108. Behind a Cal Tex station. I bought a lot from them before and they are of a very good quality. No idea of prices now.

Thanks for that. It's exactly the information I was looking for.

How do these differ from bricks, and what can CEBs be used for?

Normal bricks are fired in a kiln. CEB's are made of earth having 20 to 30% clay, some cement and enough water to make the mixture damp and placed under high pressure in a special brick making machine. The compressed bricks are then left to dry.

The CEB's are used to build houses etc. They are very easy to lay as they fit together like LEGO blocks.

I know this is an old thread but I'm wondering if you ever found this CEB factory? I'm also on the lookout for CEB bricks in Chiang Mai now.
