HUA HIN, Sept 15 -- This resort town in Prachup Khiri Khan province is bustling with happiness and activity at the Municipal Office and townspeople are preparing to welcome back Their Majesties the King and Queen to Klai Kangwon Palace later today.

Civil servants and officials from government offices in the area together cleaned up both sides of Phetkasem Road and footpaths in front of the palace in preparation for the public gatherings to welcome back His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit to the palace after leaving Siriraj Hospital.

In the meantime, authorities from the Hua Hin Municipal Office and the Hua Hin district Provincial Electricity Authority office inspected lights throughout the city to make sure that all is well and in good order, while street cleaning vehicles cleared dust from Their Majesties travel route.

Pictures of Their Majesties were being replaced with new ones, and flower beds, shrubbery and trees were being groomed and adorned with large blue and yellow ribbons, in honour of the Royal Couple. New personal flags of Their Majesties would also be put up Hua Hin Airport all the way to Phetkasem Road.

His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen were earlier admitted to Siriraj Hospital for a checkup, as advised by their Royal physicians after spending a year at the summer palace to recuperate. (MCOT online news)

Yes welcome home your Majesty!!

But instead of the occasional cleaning in front of the palace, the local authorities and the people of Hua Hin should show their respect by keeping Hua Hin clean all year round!!

Hua Hin must be on of the most dirty towns in Thailand!!bah.gif The usual plasticbags together with household-garbage are just thrown in the streets, where the lovely soidogs make sure it is spread over an even wider area. It is an eyesour and smelly way to honour the King??

Surely you jest? Hua Hin is not even remotely one of the dirtiest towns in TH.

But agree that there is always room for improvement.

  • 3 weeks later...

I sure hope I am lucky enough to see their majesties in Hua Hin some day.

It is good to see that the streets and areas are cleaned up for their arrival.

As for Hua Hin having a garbage issue, I have been to many other places where it

is a much worse issue, for that size of a city.

Does anyone know if his majesty still does astronomy?
