Hi guys. I have a slight problem I hope somebody could help me with.

I have an old( but working well) laptop computer. It only has a VGA output and not HDMI.

What I want to do is connect it to 3 flat-screen TVs. These only have HDMI inputs though.

I want to be able to play and show youtube etc in my bar.

is there some kind of splitter that inputs VGA and ouputs HDMI ( WIth at least 3 ports)?

I'm based in BKK, so if anyone knows of cost and location, It would be truly appreciated.

Cheers. DsD.

Quality will diminish over distance and the built in video card wont have the performance to get the signal over 10-20 feet.

Chrome cast is a USB dongle you plug in the TV, made by Google.

Why convert analogue to digital? LG and Samsung all have d-sub ports, unless you bought the crappiest model on display. You can check with out looking at the back by seeing if there's a DSUB channel or PC channel.

I recommend the Chromecast because it doesn't need any cables or splitters.

And yes, you can Cast to three separate TVs from the same PC, so you can stream the news on one and play a movie on another.

Not sure about casting to three simultaneously, haven't tried that.

The limitation is the oomph of your PC and your internet bandwidth.

You probably can buy an obscure VGA splitter, but I got fed up with wires around the house and I can cast something to the TV in the lounge and then just switch it to the bedroom if I move in there.

And from the phone as well as the PC.

The easiest way is just to use co-axial cable and send the signal to your TV wiring loom and tune the station in.

This can be done with a dreambox.

If you want to get geeky you can stream over your local network.

You could do this with google chromecast and a server(your laptop most likely) or with a raspberry pi.

Either way your looking at $100-$200 and you will need some technical skills with a lot of reading.

Take the easy road and just use chrome cast dongles and put random stuff on every TV.

I don't know which ChromeCast you guys have but mine is HDMI and not USB.

To answer OP question you need to convert the signal from VGA to HDMI first (~2,000B) and then using a 3-way HDMI splitter (~1500B) for the second part. Go to Macrocare. http://www.mc.co.th/pages/home They have what you need.

Re-read his post again...his "COMPUTER" only has VGA which he wants to connect to 3 HDMI TV's.

exactly !!! maybe my reply in post 3 was trying to be subtle

Amazing how people always look at the solution and not the actual need.

He wants to connect his PC to three TVs, all of which have HDMI sockets.

$90 for the Chromecasts.

$0 for the cables

$0 dollars for the converter/splitter.

No brainer.

Unless he wants to broadcast the same thing to all three simultaneously and I wouldn't say it can't because I haven't tried it.

I broadcast to five simultaneously from one PC, although in fairness it's five websites not streamed video.

Still...... the hard way:

One of these:

and one of these:

I believe people have had success using aliexpress in Thailand, but I can't speak from personal experience.

$120 + shipping excluding cables (but they're cheap as chips).

AliExpress is OK but free shipping options usually take close to a month, sometimes even more. Expedited shipping is usually very costly and more likely to incure duty charges on delivery.
