wilcopops
I would suggest that anyone with a little knowledge of conservation and animal welfare, would be horrified by most of the zoos in Thailand......in the West we have been raised on a diet of National Geographic, Attenborough etc., so we have quite a good grounding in all things ecological. In countries of Eastern Europe, there has been no such "education" - until this century most were fed on a diet of government propaganda and have absolutely know knowledge of these things, their entertainment criteria are still firmly set in the values of the 19th Century. Thailand too suffers from a general ignorance of these matters and a nationwide campaign is needed to get people to understand the consequences of animal exploitation and ecological ignorance. wilcopops
Why only free the gorilla?? No wild animals should be kept in captivity for our entertainment!! What about all the chicks behind glass in Bangkok then, awaiting you to point your finger at them??-- I believe you could pay to set them free, but it seems after being with you, they end up going back anyhow. Sexual exploitation of women in Thailand is really - although not unconnected - a matter for another thread?
