BANGKOK: -- The National Disaster Warning Centre today warned residents in nine northern and northeastern provinces of facing high risk of flash flood and landslides during September 25-26 from heavy rains.

The risk provinces are Chiang Mai, Tak, Phitsanulok, Uttaradit, Phetchabun, Loei, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Sisaket.

Meanwhile the Doi Suthep-Pui national park and Doi Inthanon national park forestry authorities ordered the closure of the two parks for safety reason due to heavy rainfalls that have raised the water levels in Mae As and Mae Klang rivers respectively.

The Meteorological Department also forecast rains today in Bangkok covering 70% of areas.

Absolutely hosing down here just north of chiang mai for the past hour. An I mean hosing even by Monsoon standards

Spasmodic rain here in Loei over the past three days but last night and today quite heavy. Loei River has risen about another three to four metres overnight and today and is the highest it has been in two years. Must be a lot of rain falling in the mountains causing a lot or run off. Here's hoping not too much more as our home is located only 50 metres from the river, what you would call a riverside property and was flooded only six years ago. Over a metre through the dwelling. I am praying hard that this will not happen this year.

Been coming down hard all week here in Sarakham
