They are more experienced in all things, and are more interesting to talk to. Aware of our own advanced years and general condition, a lot of us can still keep in mind how stupid we look in the company of a much younger woman. She's showing her age, but I think it's inaccurate to call her ugly. It's unfortunate that she chose to steal from him, but what if she's right, that he didn't want to pay? We don't know. "Save face" for what? He's done something wrong? Save face for the ridicule that people would heap upon him. For taking a working girl back to his room, for not paying her, for taking part in those bizarre finger pointing police photos, for having your face and sartorial style out there on the internet for all to see in this context. Hardly old. Funny how 50+ foreign men think any Thai woman over 35 is old, yet most of these guys look 10-20 years older than they are.
