49 Days To Hand In Missing Docs

Hi all, we have been for our interview at the embassy and were told we had 49 days to get two missing documents a thai and indonesian police report, it appears that they are on the way!!! however may be a few days past the due date, does anyone know how strict they are with the date? and how painful is the process of appealing the decision if the application is assesed without the documents??is there any extra cost? cheers
