Land fill costs?

Featured Replies

I did a search, but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know how much it costs to fill land on Koh Samui, Ban Lipa Noi area? I need from 400 to 800 cubic metres. Thanks.

It has always been illegal to take fill from the mountains. The army is now strictly enforcing this.

A couple of weeks ago my Thai neighbour had his 10 wheeler siezed by the army while trying to get fill up Soi 1 in Maenam, it cost him

200 thousand to bail his truck out.

He told me fill will only be given to farmers who have a special permit. He says fill for other purposes will have to come from the mainland

which would be very expensive.

That's interesting Sticky... ^ but when ones views the side of the hill on Soi one, one can understand why...they need to curtail the removal of fill, it is visible from many areas...bah.gif

Very visible from Soi 5 wink.png

The locals seem to move fill /soil around from building sites.... to get fill, but I don't know what's required (permits) to do that...

Obviously the OP needs to check before doing any thing.wink.png .... I don't know where....

Yes it's very expensive bring in stuff from mainland.

Wow, years ago I just asked someone to bring in some fill and it was done, can't remember the cost. I only need about 400 cubic metres to bring the property up to the road level.

I think you are going to have to ask locals, especially where they are building or clearing land in your area.... the further it gets trucked the more it will cost!

I think what Sticky was referring too was the "rape" of land on Soi one. You see it other places around the island too.. but people do have to legitimately need to move fill...for building etc!
