I booked the Safari Beach from a link here and I was very happy. From mempry it was 2500 a night including breakfast and a 5yo child.

It was about 75m from the beach.

Thanks for the reviews in advance :o

Which Patong Merlin...there's two. One in a quiet area, and the other....err, not.

As I wrote is the patong Merlin not the Merlin Beach Resort in Tri=Trang Beach.

Is the one near HOliday Inn :D

My daughter is alr.12 years old and considered an adult for the major hotels.

She loves hotel with big swimming pools and fitness

I'd go for the Merlin Beach resort. It's got three wondefull swimming pools and opens right onto the beach, it's also much newer than the other one - and quieter . Of course it depends on how much you like to party at night..... :o:D:D If you do then go for Patong.

Umm, that would have helped in your Original Post.

If your 12yo daughter is your main concern then Surin Beach Resort may also be good. They have lots of pools.

Is there anything else we should know ?

Thanks for you suggestion but the Surin Beach Resort is far from the main action place Patong and nothing to do there at night unless they have a free shuttle bus service for Patong

I saw the pictures of Surin Beach Resort fab.

We love to walk at night. SHopping and so on

Hmmm....Patong then :o

Ya.

Have you heard about the Graceland Phuket Resort and SPa?

New to me...but I moved out of Patong about 3 years ago now. Forgot to mention that the Holiday inn and Merlin are within a stones throw from each other and they've both got similar facilities.

Did you ask them. From memry its 500B each way in a Taxi to Surin beach. As its such a good beach (speaking as an Australian) it is worth being there.

Just like to point out that swimming on Surin beach at this time of the year is a no no. The huge waves ensure there's a someone drowned every year.

Sitting on the beach the other day the life guard was doing his best to disuade people from going in.
