If I buy an I phone in Thailand can I get warranty service at an Apple Store in the USA ? I think the answer is yes but would like to make sure asI plan to move back to the USA next year.

and often not at all if they think or accuse you of your iphone being damaged by water which seems to be a common out for them.

I recall there is a strip of white material in my 3GS phone jack opening and if it turns a different color then they say it indicates water damage.

Will the issue with bending be covered under warranty? It seems it would be a "materials" claim.

I had a one year old 4S bought here and the wireless failed while visiting California. The local Apple store gave me an unlocked replacement after some arm twisting because the phone was a few days out of warranty. This happened in January 2013- maybe their policies have changed since then.

Directly from Apples website for apple products (iphones, ipads, touch, etc).

If you seek service in a country that is not the original country of purchase, you will comply with all applicable import and export laws and regulations and be responsible for all custom duties, V.A.T. and other associated taxes and charges. Where international service is available, Apple may repair or replace Apple Products and parts with comparable Apple Product and parts that comply with local standards.
