Just realised my slip is dated on 15th. Plan to EMS mine tomorrow to CM Immigration. Can somebody please supply me with the address where to send? I have seen anoither thead with this but no address given.

I'm in Phayao this week and can't go to CR immigration as my address book (yellow one) is registered in Lampang. Therefore CR immigration says they dont service Lampang provide and I need to go to CM, however I urgenly need to go to Bangkok On saturday.

You can also have some one do it for you. That is if some one is willing to make the trip. Every thing you need is in the pinned topics including the new form to be filled out. You have until the 22 then it is a fine. I have seen it posted on Thai Visa where some people never go in for the 90 day and when they renew they have to pay a 2,000 baht fine.

Not sure about that but I have seen several posts saying that is what they do.

Good Luck.

Don't waste the money on EMS. Rong tabien is fine (registered) and quicker.

CM Immigration taking mailed 90 day checkins now? Last I tried they said no way - not enough staff to handle the job.

This option has been available for many years. It was suspended for a short time - 3 months or so - but that was about a year or 18 months ago.

Thanks for the update. Good news to be able to return to the system I had used for years.

Be sure to download the new form posted above in the pinned topics. Not much difference but it is a little bit different.

While you do have a 7 day grace period for your 90 day report, that grace period is only if you report in person. If reporting by mail, your report has to arrive at immigration no later than your due date. If sending a 90 day report by mail after the due date, Immigration will not process the report until you show up at their office to pay the fine for reporting late.

Above is the national policy. I am not aware if Chiang Mai Immigration has their own (more magnanimous) way of handling late 90 day reports by mail, but I would be (pleasantly) surprised if they do.

All this nervousness about an administrative report! Why do so many people obsess about a simple matter ?! I seriously doubt that Sophon is correct about any such "national policy." Anyway, so what! Just do the needful. It is all spelled out in Tywais' post for a mailed report. Or if you wish to bother with an agent, do it. But why all this endless carping about such a simple matter !! You may doubt it, but that doesn't make it any less true as confirmed by numerous reports in the visa forum.

i've been doing 90-day by post for many years. i usually send it off 2-3 days before it is due. a few times i've posted it the day before. never stayed up all night checking the tracking either. never once been returned. 15 days before? unlikely.

also it is not 2K Bath for one day. it is 500 Bath per day - up to 2K max.

also - don't use EMS because EMS takes longer to get there. registered post usually will arrive the next day - 2 days max. Ems goes to Lamphun first, then comes back to C.M. can take up to 5 days. it's good for some things because it has more insurance. don't need any insurance for some photocopied paper!

No, it it 2k for late reporting. 500 Baht/day is for overstay up to 20k maximum. From the Immigration website.

If a foreigner staying in the kingdom over 90 days without notifying the Immigration Bureau or notifying the Immigration Bureau later than the set period, a fine of 2,000.- Baht will be collected. If a foreigner who did not make the notification of staying over 90 days is arrested, he will be fined 4,000.- Baht.

The 15 days before mentioned on the Immigration website is obviously a time frame to make absolutely sure it arrives on time. The point is that it has to arrive before (or on) the due date, making it already too late for the OP to mail his 90 day report (since his due date was the 15th). Also, from reports here on TV generally Immigration will not return the 90 day report if received late, they will wait for you to contact them to hear why you haven't received your confirmation slip.

There are probably some Immigration offices that are more flexible than others if they receive a report late, but can see that it was mailed before the due date.

As already pointed out, you are wrong about the fine.

You are right about the policy. I do recall that. I misspoke. The point I really meant to make is the one you made yourself in your next post about its application which I believe probably does vary from place to place. In Chiang Mai, I really do not recall hearing about more than a slap on the wrist if a submission was mailed ahead of the expiration date, and that includes talking with the OIC a couple of months ago. He shook his head at the incomplete submissions that he pulled out of the drawer to show me. Even then, I believe some people have posted that when checking in to see why they hadn't heard back from Immigration, they just got a slap on the wrist and no fine.

The real mystery to me in all this is the astonishing obsession with this simple (if annoying) process. For Chiang Mai, just follow Tywais' pinned instructions on mailed reports! Even if you goof up, you're not going to jail ! Unless, I suppose, you haven't bothered to report for the last several years! Otherwise, relax !!
