PATTANI: -- A combined force of police, soldiers and village defence volunteers combed several suspected targets in Pattani in continual hunt for arsonists responsible for the torching of six schools in Thung Yang Daeng and Mayo districts last week.

One suspect identified as Abdulloh Muesa, 38, a resident of Ban Bulangae village in Thung Yang Daeng district was arrested.

His arrest came after a suspected arsonist, Isman Sengmadee, arrested earlier confessed and implicated him one of the arsonists.

No evidence was found in his house but security officials said Abdulloh is a person who helped to conceal weapon of the southern terrorists after finishing an attack on authorities.

Isman was arrested at the weekend after the combined force searched several targets in Thung Yang Daeng for evidence linking to the school arsons.

Four suspects were arrested, included Isman, after they recovered two M16 assault rifles along with 200 rounds of cartridges, in a plastic oil drum buried in the ground of a rubber plantation.

One of the rifles retrieved was latter found to belong to a soldier killed in an ambush that killed six soldiers.

Explosive gels, gun parts, gun magazines, and jungle fatigues were inside these buried drums.

Ejh, Ejh Abdullah, than your family will cry: "they don't like Muslims...."

What are you on about?

Why are the Islamic fundamentalists bringing their terrorism north of the border into Thailand. Is it because they are loosing their grip in Malaysia?

Having lived in Songkhla, I know that generally the Southern Muslim Thai's are a peaceful lot, yet their "seemingly" own kind want to destroy the trust and harmony that has existed for years.
