im going to be living of the money earnt by my wife in this particular business venture, i have an idea very peopular in europe which isn't done in thailand, and can't see it failing.. looking at 65% profit margin on food and should be selling enough because of the very good taste and cheap prices to earn profit of about 40,000 baht if i've done my cacalucations right...

but i have this issue with key money a £10k desposit, seems ridiclous,

Good luck. Ignore the cynics, you never know until you try !!!

Lots available and more being built everyday.

Much depends on the location you want to be in. Many of the newest until are being built on the east side of #3 Road. Quite a few along soi Buakhao as well.

Don't see them advertised very often though (in the english language listings). So many in my area just have a cardboard sign hanging off the door with "For Sale" or "For Rent" and a phone number. That's it.

You'll have to drive around, find the area you want to be in and then start "pounding the pavement" !

Good Luck ! :o

Yes that is totally ridculous :o look for somewhere without "Key money" £10k would almost buy you a 4 storey ( unfitted ) shophouse outright !!!!

there many many new shop houses just finished or being built in Pattaya at the moment, you shouldn't have to search too hard before finding somewhere suitable.

And very best of luck with the business.

If you are interested in being located in a central area I know of a place in an area called Pattaya Plaza. It is situated almost opposite soi 8 second road. When you look at it from the soi 8 end it is on right hand side of the island. It is a small shop front type bar on the right. I don't remember the name but the Thai lady running it wants out. She has a for sale sign or rent sign on the bar. You can convert it into anything you like. I don't know anything of what she wants money wise but I can say it is a fairly busy area. If you are around the area check it out. It is a shop front bar with a level on top.

The question itself suggests one is not too familiar with Pattaya. Like Chatters says, we are down to our last 10,000 or so. They are going like hotcakes.

If you have a sure fire and unique buisiness idea you can be sure that as soon as you have a line out the door that every other chancer will be copying your idea. Nothing in Thailand stays unique for long except maybe the Blues factory :o
