Mr Yongyuth said Thailand asked Japan to transfer robotic technology for Thailand to build robots to take care of the elderly and people with disabilities.

I thought about that twice. "Hey, robot, bring me another beer." They might be able to build some very attractive ones, that do not want to have the last word like my wife.

Then I'll exchange her with such a good looking robot. Must be cool, if you just switch them off.....until you need their service again.

It seems the contract will go to China - no tendering and no transparency.Just the same old crony capitalism because it suits the interests of a beleaguered government even though the likelihood is an unsafe and substandard project.If this had happened under the last administration the usual suspects would be ranting and frothing in their usual manner.But now - just a compliant silence.
