I need to send an atm card to my wife's sister in Bangkok from the uk. At the moment the account is empty and no overdraft facility, is there anything else I should worry about should for example the card fell into the wrong hands? I have used Western Union in the past and old atm cards and I find the latter to be a more cost effective solution but we won't be going back to Thailand until next year. Is this a risky plan and what other dirt cheap ways are there to send money?Cheers.

Stick it in a greetings card ( birthday or Xmas) put in a Jiffy bag and send signed for, being doing this for nine years and never failed.

I lost one card that was send to me from the Cayman Islands without EMS. The second card reached but I went for DHL. To my surprise no dhl delivered the card and just the regular postmen as DHL doesn't/didn't had a branch in Sakon Nakhon. Use a courier service.
