A pleasent experience at 7/11

Just came back from 7/11 where I had a pleasant experience and I would like to share it with you.

Before I entered the shop, I noticed a red van unloading bread in front of the main entrance.

I went in 7/11 and got a loaf of sliced whole wheat bread (prefer it than the white), some other things and went to the check out.

The girl scanned the items and put them in a plastic bag.

Suddenly, a young man comes near takes the bread out of the bag and throws it in a nearby plastic container.

For a moment I stayed motionless without knowing what is happening, but the same man appears again and puts a new loaf of bread in my bag.

As I realized it was the driver from the bread van, it clicked to me…….went to the container, looked at the date of the bread and it was yesterday’s date.

I thanked the man and left with a very pleasant experience from the shop.

As you can see, not everything is bad in Thailand.

Excellent Costas, just wait though for the usual Thai Bashers to come along shortly

yeeeeaaaahhhh good one Mr costas, did you ask for the old bread to feed the Gerbils ? waste not want not Mr Costas

Good to see Roland back on the forum. There was a thread just for you the other day called "Pet Rat", but sadly you weren't around

Almost can't believe it, i refuse to buy bread from yesterday but in most bakery's (like S&P) they think it's normal to sell it as fresh bread.

I always check the date and many times it is 3 days old and when i show that to the personell they don't give a dime. Villa market doesn't tell the production date at all, they tell the expiry date so it still can be some days old.

One day we kept a hamcheese roll in our fridge for 4 weeks but it still wasn't moulded. I told the local baker about that and he really didn't understand what the problem was (he speaks good english). He uses the standard breadmix he said so it should be good.

I never buy bread in the 711 though, that ain't bread.

Also i have never seen a bakery selling with discount at the end of the day to get rid of the stock.

"As you can see, not everything is bad in Thailand"

Who thinks everything in Thailand is bad? i don't, I see good everyday

As you can see, not everything is bad in Thailand.

Your sarcasm will fly over the heads of many.

I wonder if you were buying a bottle of 25 year old whisky if someone would helpfully change it for a fresher bottle.

Stale bread makes crispier toast...I'd have been furious....another raging farang incident for Thai chatter....we're crazy...all of us.....heeeeelp!
