Well with nearly 94% of approval I'm surprised he hasn't walked on water yet!

Surprisingly no opposition .

He must be doing right thing.

A lot of announcements but not sure what the junta has actually done.

Oh getting the street vendors of the streets and tearing down poor peoples homes on in or near forest boundaries.

Yep I can see why they are so popular.

They have given gainful employment to a lot of old military men coming up to retirement, and ensured families and friends are catered for.

Can't argue with these polls. Well you can, but it may be wrongly construed.

Please pray tell me who was appointed on the PTP cabinet---by who ??? what credentials did they have ??? water management ?? education tablets Rice committee?? transport/highways scams??? who was catered for in Thaksins government---FAMILY for starters.

Old military men will have more gorm than Chalerm/Yingluck/Jutaporn/ etc. These people were complete nutters in comparison. A drunk----an out of touch shopper/ and a red army mobiliser-fanatic..................think before you post please.

I could agree a little with your post re/old retired, but you do not have any reason to doubt their abilities, we have proof of the Shin family/friends abilities at the helm.

The problem with your view is that you, rightfully, point out that many members of the PTP government were incompetent. At the same time, you're willing to put full faith in a bunch of generals to dictate education, water management, agricultural, and transportation policies. What makes them qualified? Cabinet positions for whatever government is in power are simply political gifts, yet you'll argue that one side is "morally" better than the other and that will lead to better governance. Partisan politics at its worst.

Time is what I am giving them only.

Their action will tell us if they qualify.

I am saying the last Shin regime was found to be badly flawed--the PM was incompetent-her hand picked cabinet proved they were unfit people.

1 year I will come to the conclusions if good or not------not 3 years of PTP.

The general does not have enough years left to solve the problems Thailand has. Their problems stem from their culture and lackadaisical attitude to society and education. It will take generations to solve but he has a chance to set the wheels in motion. If only he would release the brake and tackle corruption now

ABC News ran a story the other day and it appears being a problem solver is lucrative.

http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/thai-prime-minister-general-millionaire-26600607

Wow, just wow. He transferred nearly 15 million dollars!! to family members.

Simply crazy how anyone still believes these guys are any different to what has gone before.

Nearly every single army General is a dollar millionaire, and some way way over that.

Where can i sign up!

How do you expect the general's family to enjoy their sudden windfall if members of the public start gossiping and criticizing his wealth(and how amazing it is on a small govt salary).

His mate Somyot, the police chief, also had a recent windfall, revealed when he splurged out 400 odd million baht on the stock exchange.I suppose we will never know the source of these 2 individuals staggering and unexplainable wealth.

Now I wonder which high profile family have recently "lost" the billion baht that these 2 found?

I would give him a maximum of one year. If by Nov 1 2015, he has not made some serious inroads into reforming the RTP (disbanding, and starting over from scratch, would probably be better) and tackling the corruption of the last government (that means arrests and prosecutions, preferably followed by a few Chinese style executions), then I would toss him out on his ear.

So far the prospects of him doing anything substantial seem very dim indeed.

Agree totally, apart from your last sentence--one minute you want to give him benefit of the doubt, and now you say the prospects are DIM. why not wait the full year I'm with you on that one.

You give him one year? How presumptuous!

He took his tenure and will stay on until he has his fill and passes the baton.

Has nothing to do with what we Farangs want. You think anybody in government past and present cares one iota about what our opinion is?

We are, at best, tolerated observers in this country.

If you sweep into power by force, your accountability should be higher than that of an elected government. Elected governments are voted in and out by the populous. Juntas take power away and do not earn it, so they start from a negative position and are rightly criticized more.

At the end of the day all you are doing is looking for silly excuses. It does not change the fact that Yingluck and PT received 48% of the popular vote, real people voting for them not some fabricated opinion pole. Please don't even mention credentials as the current lot have none other than being part of the militairy, which from past experience is worthless when one looks for people running a government. Or did you forget their poor record the last time ?

In this case being a foreigner doesn't matter neither does being Thai. That alone should at least be some food for thought don't you think.

Would that be an election with a vote on the complete legislature or with partial selection. Because basically what we are headed for is a partial democracy. How partial remains to be seen, as well as the time frame regarding any kind of democracy rather than the present situation.

63.6% of 626 people surveyed means that 398 of them want PM Prayuth to stay on. Polls like this conducted among such a small group of people serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever. A waste of money better spent on worthwhile projects that will return a little happiness.

Putting people on the ignore list defies the purpose of a forum. It's something a child would do, a grown up tries to discuss and bring in arguments to support their case

Completely disagree. Before spam filters became much more efficient, an inbox would be stuffed with them. You'd read and argue the toss with everyone from Nigeria re the provenance of their granny's inaccessible bank account? laugh.png

BTW You ever tried arguing with a Jehova's Witness/Mormon? w00t.gif

As someone who runs several mail gateways I know a thing or two about email spam.

I do not believe posts of other members which I might disagree with to be spam. Ignoring these defies the purpose of a forum.

I am sure that TV has server side measures to prevent or clean actual spam from the boards.

Better you apologists get a hate the PM forum. Argue among yourselves you soon will get fed up with each of your boring posts.

Please ALL of you apologists put me on you ignore list. ALL of you sad expats. If you put me on your list you will not have comments from me, Mostly I contradict your posts. Rarely do I see a good post from you guys-only a slagging match aimed at the PM-------to sum up, how the heck dare you when you had PTP do this to the country.

This should then see a stop to the replies as I will be on ALL your ignore lists.

All our positive thinking posters will also benefit from being on your ignore lists.---Do you all see it is our majority of TVF posters that are feeding you all the fodder you thrive on.

You certainly didn't answer my question and you're back to mentioning the PTP. Besides not being Thaksin, what has Prayut done that shows you he will improve Thailand? You have no answer as of now.

I couldn't put you on my ignore list ginjag as I find you a source of amusement!

Actually I thought I was on yours like so many others are supposed to be but then again what would you do with your day?

Anyways the only poll that counts is the one on Election Day and the general who wasn't going to have a coup or become PM so looks like it's going to be awhile.

He's now clamoring for an election apparently while giving the junta at least one more year. Instead of addressing his contradictions, he simply moves on to another one.
