Illegal resort in Srinakarind national park seized

BANGKOK: -- About 100 national park officials and army troops today (Wednesday) seized a resort found to have encroached on Srinakarind dam national park.

Mr Thammarat Wongsopha, director of the National Park division, said that about three months ago park officials checked the Ban Pa Sawan resort in Thong Paphum district with satellite mapping to determine whether the 6-rai resort was located on the national park or not.

Satellite mapping has confirmed that the resort is in park land and, therefore, it has to be seized, he said.

Park officials and army troops from Surasee task force today checked buildings in the resort and prepared a report to be submitted to Thong Paphum district police to locate the resort owner so legal actions can be taken against him.

Now GEEZ! i wonder who the resort owner could be that they would have to track him down?

Could it possibly be another government official?

Rather startling seeing soldiers coming out of the jungle at dawn , while you are nibbling on a piece crumpet for breakfast on the balcony, you could actually choke on the bacon, being a tourist in Thai can at times become hazardous cheesy.gif

must be some sort of miraclefacepalm.gif did it just appear overnight.facepalm.gif or was everything transported by airfacepalm.gif

"... submitted to Thong Paphum district police to locate the resort owner so legal actions ..."

He's standing right in front of you. Somchai the gardner.

Good action. Glad to see the integrity of the national parks protected. I hope they make the facilities available to the public.

After first conducting rigorous background checks to see if the owner knew anybody particularly high on the "influence" scoreboard.

I am certain everything was purchased legally from a deaf mute forest dweller, by an influential person who may be in the police or military or who may not be. This will be forgotten next month.
