Transport Min promises smooth Airport Link services despite maintenance

BANGKOK, 21 November 2014 (NNT) – Transport Minister ACM Prajin Juntong has affirmed that the Airport Rail Link will operate as usual during its maintenance and that the system’s extension projects are progressing well.

ACM Prajin has paid a visit to the Airport Rail Link’s Makkasan Station as well as its nearby maintenance facility in order to observe the repair of trains and discuss any obstacles in the procedure. Out of nine trains set to undergo major maintenance next year, authorities have already begun the works on three trains. The early start is an attempt to cut the time required to be spent on each train during the major repair to no more than 25 days.

The Transport Minister pointed out that the Airport Rail Link has been highly efficient in serving commuters as it is currently used by 1.4 million people each month, exceeding the target of 1-1.2 million. In spite of the maintenance works, he insisted that the services will not be disrupted.

Regarding the project to extend the Airport Rail Link from Phaya Thai to Don Mueang Airport, the minister revealed the environmental impact assessment has been conducted and the construction plan is awaiting the Cabinet’s approval.

Meanwhile, another planned extension from Suvarnabhumi Airport to U-Tapao Airport is in the study stage.

Should have never built Makkasan as a rail link station.

The airport link should have come into Asoke ...... coffee1.gif

Shouldn't that read

"The service you will receive will be on the same exemplary level as you have become used from us" ?
