A vehicle crashed into restaurants on the street after the driver lost control.

PHUKET: -- A 30-year-old man crashed into some restaurants and a light pole yesterday (November 25) after he lost control of his vehicle, injuring the female passenger.

At 2am, Thalang police and Kusoldharm rescuers were called to the scene to investigate the accident on Thepkasattri Rd and found the Toyota badly damaged.

The victim, Radya Kongdee, 30, suffered minor injuries and was sent to Thalang hospital for treatment.

According to nearby witnesses, the Toyota crashed into restaurant signs and a coffee cart before slamming into a light pole.

The driver, Chaiyamat Leetong, 30, told police that they were arguing when Ms Radya grabbed the steering wheel from him, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

“All parties will meet at the police station to discuss the estimation of the damages. The driver will most likely face charges for reckless driving,” said police.

I have noticed that they don't have to be arguing to loose control of the vehicle here.

And then, David, is asking, Are Thais the best drivers in the world?sad.png

How surprising - the driver blamed it on someone else ...

I doubt if she was wearing a seat belt. There is an assumption driver was in control previous to impromptu restaurant drive through....

Drive through restaurant; thai style

Glad no one was killed or seriously injured. Speculators will do what they do.

Same as number plates. Borrowed the girlfriend's uncle's truck to go into town, didnt have plates. Got stopped by police who looked at my license, asked if the vehicle was registered "I don't know its not mine.." "Oh Ok, you can go now"
