90 day single entry Non-Immigrant O visa extension

Featured Replies

My family and I are moving to BKK on 06/12/14 and my son and I have obtained 90 day single entry non-immigrant 'O' visas through my husbands 'B' visa. He will be applying for his Work Permit on arrival - my question is do we have to wait for his WP to be approved before my son and I can get our extension processed? We are travelling to New Zealand on 31/12/14 and I am worried we will not have enough time to get our extensions before we leave (and we're only on single entry visas). Worst case scenario - could we just come back in to the country on tourist visas? We're all travelling on New Zealand passports.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

are you coming back to Thailand within 90 days of your first entry, if so you could get a re-entry permit which will keep your original permission to stay stamp of 90 days alive.

Thanks Steve.

Yes, we're coming back 58 days after the 90 days starts (we're away in NZ for 31 days). How do we get the re-entry permit?

You can apply for the re-entry permit at your local immigration office or at either airport in Bangkok 24 hours a day. The fee for the re-entry permit will be 1000 baht (1200 baht at BKK).
