PATTAYA: -- A 31 year old man, currently on-bail relating to a Murder case, is accused of stabbing his Wife and Mother-in-Law at their family home in the early hours of Monday.

The incident occurred at the house in the Takiendier area and was dealt with by Banglamung Police who met the victims of the stabbing at Banglamung Hospital. Also there was the alleged attacker, who was arrested and taken away.

The suspect’s wife, sustained multiple upper-body stab wounds and her condition was described as serious. Her Mother sustained a minor flesh wound. The incident began as the two victims slept at the house. The suspect, Khun Prajuab, arrived and appeared intoxicated. He shouted to his wife to come outside and answer allegations she was seeing another man. She denied the allegations but was attacked by Khun Prajuab with a knife. Her Mother rushed to help but was also attacked.

My wife used to work for the local police and still has regularly contact with a couple of her friends there.

One of the biggest complaints of the police officers is how easily anyone arrested and charged can get bail and when eventually jailed how quickly they are released usually by the annual amnesties.

The delights of bail .Or how to remove the witnesses to your crimes. Let's be honest in the greater majority of the civilised world murderers do not get bail.

Yes, given an opportunity to remove witnesses against you, exact some revenge, and perhaps finish up the job not quite completed.

Bail for murder suspects, and the postponement of jail-terms while on appeal are hardly 'protecting the public' more a mind-boggling opportunity for more crimes or escape..

Alleged murders may though.

Dreadful story - surely to goodness, any murder suspect anywhere in the world should NOT be given the chance to go out and do it again.

What the hell is wrong with justice - and this sadly is a worldwide fault - they do it all over the place, and the public just has to keep fingers crossed that they don't accidentally run into some crazed nut-job out on bail...

As always Thailand has completely misunderstood the concept of bail, and of course refuses to change anything. As the saying goes in Thailand "if something is broken, why fix it?".

How about those police officers who were convicted of murder, sentenced to death and subsequently released on bail, are they still running around? I assume they have not voluntarily turned up at the local police station and asked for their sentences to be carried out biggrin.png

I wonder what she and her mother did to make him do this.

Married him in the case of the wife and probably tried to intervene in the case of the mother?

A real life Thai soap opera with all the usual ingredients - jealous husband, too much alcohol and a lethal weapon. Who needs TV when you can have the real thing round the clock?
