Welcome back, Up2U!

Featured Replies

I have just received an automated message from TV, asking why I have not contributed since 2005.

The answer is simple - I was banned for life after some comments about DrPong (I think that was his nic) being drunk in charge of a website.

He has fallen by the wayside while I ride on triumphantly as the Ursus Major.

I'm sure I saw a post of yours in Bedlam on the 3rd of this month, I'm confused Humph.

Under the HB nic, yes.

Under the Up2U nic, I was banned for life in 2005, despite several mods of that time fighting my corner.

So I reincarnated.

Yesterday I received an e-mail from TV admin, noting that I (Up2U) had not contributed since 2005. That was when I was banned for life. I logged on using my old nic, but it showed up as HB, so the hidden machines that watch us 24/7 were aware of my subterfuge. Beware - we are under constant scrutiny.

Thanks for explaining your split personality . wai2.gif

Humph. We mods do read this forum too.

Now what was that rule about multiple nicks?

Ah yes;-

24) Multiple accounts by the same person are not allowed. If you have access issues contact support at http://www.thaivisa.com/contact

Now, where's the "Ban" button gone?

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I know the rules - I contacted three mods at the time, around the Pattaya area, and we all agreed that this was an excessive response by one senior person in the hierarchy. They tried to get the ban reduced to a 'holiday', but without success, so I abandoned the old nick, started the HB nick. Now TV send me an e-mail under the old address. Nine years in the wilderness, then forgiveness! It must be Christmas.

Here is the e-mail from TV HQ

I would argue that he doesn't have multiple nicks, as one has been banned forever, and so by definition, cannot be accused of having multiple nicks.

And by and large, since my old frien' Farangsay's demise, who could I talk to in regard of the quare shaped ball!! After a few single malt's of course.

I'd no idea you were one of the naughty gang HB....Merry Christmas to ya!

Naughty? Me? Never! laugh.pnglaugh.png

I used to live in Patong, doing a lot of SCUBA diving off a live-aboard, but as I got older I found Pattaya to be more interesting.

I was a part of the team building BIA (Suwannabumi) and other projects, in the latter days with my own consultancy, but thanks to both my wife and my employees I went bust. So at times I have written unflattering things about Thailand. (And other people w00t.gif )

Mossy - I see Dan Carter is moving to France for a £1M+ pay packet. Best of luck to him, but I do dislike the professional game with the additional pressures it brings. Far more injuries, players far too much time in the gym, too much steroid aggressiveness. I was always aggressive, but I was (almost) always on the field as we respected each other and knew we had to go to work the next day.

Hump free b bear.

Welcome Bach as up2u.

This story seems familiar.

I wonder if TVF realises the system is doing this?

Before long jetgordon will be back.

Then that tw at sir racha john will be back....

You'd be breaking a lot of hearts.....some of us like the bear..... :(

He was back a long time ago, don't know if still posting under his assumed nic.

It went professional almost over night, and so the great game changed, the hits they take now, are unsustainable, I cannot believe BOD reached his own personal milestone, not only with the hits he took but those he administered, if thugs of NZ hadn't done a job on him, perhaps even that tour may have been different.

But, I guess, I might disagree with the respect bit being more ingrained in earlier times, I can't quite remember the '99' tour of SA in '74, but the sight of JPR running 30ms to hit a player will live in memory a long time.

Take note a certain member who has me on ignore (but will read this anyway, I'm sure).

I see that BOD agrees with me - skill is more important than bulk.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/11309341/Brian-ODriscoll-makes-plea-for-future-of-the-game-focus-on-skill-not-size.html

But although I had great respect for JPR, and all the other Welsh wizards, one could see and avoid a distant runner or hand them off (a lost art nowadays) if you weren't stoked up on steroids (Dylan Hartley??) or spent your time in the gym rather than on the field.

We used to have Easter tours in the West Country, both with Wasps and West Herts, and encountered all the Welsh and Bath/Gloucester/Worcester clubs. Vey good beer!
