Cholera vaccine

Featured Replies

Where to go to get one? Preferable, tomorrow, Sunday. Eastern Seabord/ Bkk area.

As this is not needed/recommended for travel in Thailand (or in most places except those with an active cholera outbreak) , it may prove hard to find at hospitals though no harm in giving Bangkok Rayong Hosp a call.

The place that will definitely have it is the Travel Medicine Clinic at Mahidol Hosp of Tropical medicine, http://www.thaitravelclinic.com/cost.html

It is in Bangkok and it is closed on Sundays but looks like an appointment for Monday would be possible, you can make appt online.

Thank you Sheryl,

Bangkok Rayong no have... looks like a trip to Bangkok is inevitable.

To my understanding, it is no longer available in thailand as the Sanofi Pasteur no longer import the product. You might want to call the Travel med center to confirm before going there just to find out the fact they don't have.

Correct the fact: DKHS sells the vaccine it might be available again after the Sanofi stopped importing.

Just for the record:

We went to Laem Chabang harbour and the port health officer from the departement of disease control gave us a whole cell oral Cholera vaccine produced from Shanchol, India for 1000 ฿, 2nd dose in 2 weeks, no further costs.

He told us every (oceanside) harbour/international airport manned with a health officer can provide vaccination for any kind of disease.
