Anyone have any experiences shipping to foriegn US military basis located outside of US? Specifically APO

Wondering if there is any limitations of packages shipping out of thailand to foreign US military bases.

There are weight restrictions depending upon the status of the person receiving the packages. Retirees with an APO address are limited to 16 oz, except for medications. Active duty and civilians working for U.S. have a much higher weight limit. I have sent a case of syrup and a case of orange soda to an APO address from the states before.

Only because you didn't get caught. Certain items cannot be shipped via the APO system, liquor being one of them

I've mailed a few things to foreign APOs before, specifically in Iraq and Afghanistan, small items, more for a joke than anything else. Once sent some P-38 can openers. Note that the package goes first to the States where it enters the U.S. mail system then the APO system, NY, or where ever. Does take some time but seems to get through.
