My plans have changed and I am arriving around 8pm. Wife wants me to catch the mini van to the farm, another 5hours. Ok if am feeling up to it.

My question is,are there hotel service agents in the arrivals area that I can use if I don't want to jump straight into the mini van. Or do I have to prebook, not looking for an expensive option.

I have prebookted before when I hired a car and next day we travelled on to the farm. This time I am on my own with 2 heavy bags.

there are some hotel booking booths in the arrival hall near to the area where the mobile phone providers have set up theirs. As I am a resident in BKK I never had to use them, but I am sure it will be no problem to book a room with them. several inexpensive Thai-apartment-style Hotels are very near to the Airport, so you could pick a few from hotel booking websites and write down their phone numbers in case you want to contact them upon arrival. chances are that some of them will agree to immediately pick you up from the Airport for free to get your business. If you don't mind a budget accom, you could as well easily hop on the Airport Express (City Line) and get off at Ramkhamhaeng station, where the huge and cheap NASA VEGAS HOTEL is right next door. as they have hundreds of rooms, they are virtually never fully booked and you could just show up as a walk-in-guest. Expect to pay 700-900 THB depending if you agree to a a very worn or a little less worn room.

Thanks Siam2007 for your reply.

If I use them I will post back my experience.

Now that I know they are available.

Has anybody actually used the services of any of these hotel booths for booking a room?

(Sorry I will have 2 heavy bags so I don't want to carry them very far)

Easiest solution is book a hotel next to the airport using a website such as Agoda.

There are dozens of hotels in Lat Krabang, some offering free pickup.

However I find it quicker to get a taxi straight to the hotel, and get my head down.

You only need to push your luggage trolley to the taxi rank and the driver will do the rest.

Fare is usually around 150-200 baht.

The hotel booths just make a commission on the deal so better you use a website, choose your hotel in advance and print out the booking for the taxi.

Yes I have used this service before. Ok if you know you are going to stay,at this point I am not sure.

This time I was hoping for some personal experiences from members who may have used the agents near the arrivals exit.

Thanks

Don't forget you have to pay a 1.500 Baht deposit returnable when you check out.
