JAKARTA, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Final results of investigation on the crashed AirAsia QZ 8501 will be published at least one year later, an Indonesian official said here on Tuesday.

"A final report containing all the results of the probe into the crash will be released one year later," Tatang Kurniadi, Chairman of Indonesian Transport Safety Committee, told a press conference in Pangkalan Bun city, central Kalimantan.

The formal investigation will commence after the release of a preliminary report, said Kurniadi, adding that the preliminary factual report, which has no analysis, will be released within one month.

Tatang Kurniadi said a draft of the final report will be delivered to countries including France, Singapore and United States for evaluation.

Ridiculous. 1 year....they will know cause within a few days and probably already know !

It's not unusual to do this.

And unless it's an obvious mechanical failure, they have to not only look at how the accident happened but what is required to prevent it happening again.

No point in rushing, it's not going to change anything issuing an incomplete report.

The AF447 Final report didn't come out until three years after the loss.

The 3 year wait for the AF447 Final report may have had something to do with the black box flight recorders not being found for 2 years. thumbsup.gif
