For almost a year, I have had a very small lump on my nose, maybe a boil, it is soft and not painful, and not noticeable to anyone. Anyone know how I can get rid of it?

Suspect it should probably be checked first (biopsy) to be sure not cancer of any kind (this is a frequent location - but also very likely is not). If cancer suspect a surgical operation to remove would be in order (have had done myself). If not suspect can be removed by less invasive means (such as laser). If Caucasian I would consult a hospital dermatologist with experience treating foreigners for evaluation and treatment. This issue with beauty shop type treatment being cancer is very infrequent among local population so might be missed and this could result in issues later.

Basal Cell Carcinoma is common on the nose according to Dr Vachiriporn, my dermotologist at Chiang Mai Ram.

Its not deadly but if it's the infiltrating type, it can be quite disfiguring as during removal it is necessary to cut wide enough to ensure the surgical margins are free. It may of course be nothing at all to worry about, but I suggest you get it checked ASAP especially as you have had it for some time.

Actually it should not be very disfiguring but could result is obvious skin tone difference for a period if graft is required. I was able to have done without skin graft - wife had to have skin from back of ear used and it did take about a year to become completely the same. But it was not a change in nose shape - just replacement of boil/spot with a different tone of skin - although a bit larger.

For a girl perhaps worth the extra expense of plastic surgeon doing the operation; if required.
