Apparent suicide attempt in Centre Condo

Finnish man said to be lonely A farang from Finland, Mr Esko Juhanimuhli aged 61, is thought to have become depressed in Pattaya and knifed himself – though thankfully not to death. He was taken to the Bangkok Pattaya hospital from his unit at Centre Condo, Pattaya Tai, where his condition was said to be stable.

Police questioned Miss Nok Santong, aged 24, who agreed she knew him. She stated that he had accosted her on Walking Street and she had agreed to go to bed with him for 1,000 baht. Mr Esko then requested a second night of fun and promised a further 1,000 baht. However, as daylight broke, he declined to pay up, making excuses and telling her to come back later. Investigators said the condo room showed signs of violence, but added that the broken ornaments and damaged furniture could have been his work alone.

Miss Nok stated her only interest was in getting her money and she knew nothing of his background or financial state, adding the opinion that many foreigners in Pattaya are very odd cases to say the least.

Loneliness is a terrible thing, especially if you're old and alone in a foreign country. I remember James Baldwin saying, in reference to a friend (a writer) who entered self imposed isolation to improve his work: "loneliness took him." This writer became permanently debilitated from loneliness, without any work of significance. Loneliness can kill.

How can you get lonely in Pattaya? :o There is 100's of expats of all Nationalities here and several Finnish/Scandi hangouts too. If the expats and clubs where you can meet them aren't your scene you can always go to a bar and talk to the girls, they are fun too. I think to get lonely or depressed here you must have been that kind of person before you came here in the first place, maybe this guy should just go home.

ummmm ... ok ... an adventuresome lady is "accosted" and leaves with the guy with a promise of pay for play ... 1000 baht ...

he doesn't pay ... and ends up knifed

signs of a struggle .....

yes another attempted suicide in Pattaya

And yet another success for the BIB. Amazing how they solve these things so quickly.

Maybe he threw himself on to a knife she was holding :o

I am sure all will be revealed when the said gentleman recovers...I hope that he will have some kind of mental support and therapy if required in the hospital......we don`t want another hospital jumper.
