Cant say that it exactly floats my boat seeing a manager entering into negotiations regarding his next job whilst managing his country at a MAJOR tournemont but hey what the f do i know!!

http://www1.skysport...m-talk-to-Blanc

And <deleted> carmine, at least you see that there is logic to the loan decision where's your little scenario relies TOTALLY on hindsight, Hindsight is a wonderful thing but when the decision was made at the beginning of the season knowing ari he was probably 7th choice at tottenham and not likely to even likely to get on the bench let alone play. they paid the wages got a decent season out of him and we got a player that's jumped up the pecking order and ready to contend for the first 11, MAYBE.

Rij, Corluka was also our spacialist cover at right back when we only had Kyle Walker. Sorry i presumed you knew this. He loans out an international utility player when we have no cover for his specialist right back cover and Ledley with only one knee who only managed nine games the season before,Now i'm sure you see what i mean. So, cut out the "<deleted>" comments and think about it! It was a f*cking stupid decision from the start. It was asking for trouble and thats what it got...nothing at all to do with hindsight.

If you still can't see the logic please don't reply, i really can't be bothered anymore!

Anyway, i find it hard to believe Laurant Blanc would be talking to Spurs in the middle of the euros...infact i find it totally unbelievable. At best i'd have thought he would have agreed to talks at the end of the tourno.

CArmine Dont tell me what to write and I suggest you think about what you write b4 you post esp if its crap and defo if its wrong. Firstly corluka wasn't the only r/b cover Kaboul plays there. And as for corluka being cover for king, no way !! you may not have noticed but for the last ten seasons kings been our left hand sided c/b and where does corluka play, even you must have noticed that , he plays on the right hand side, so no way was he cover for king.

And Your making it out that it was aris choice totally, it wasn't its a 2 /three way decision corluka until this season was first choice r/b and he lost his place and WANTED to go!!!

http://www.guardian....-quit-tottenham

Like the statement at the end,

So that leaves us with gallas caulker Dawson kaboul vertigo, if we sign him. With corluka and bassong's future still to be decided.

Not forgetting he also loaned out Bassong who aint that great but probaly better than Nelson and could have filled in at left back when we lost BAE and Rose at the end of the season.

Rij,as a matter of interest how many times have you seen Corluka play at Centre back for Spurs in a premier league game.

He had a couple of games there when he first joined us and he wasnt good enuf and the last time, i think, was in the champs lge against young boys HE WAS AWFUL

I see the Beeb has posted an article about David Moyes' comments on who he would most like to sign from the Euros 2012. I rushed to open the article thinking he might have spotted that underlooked talent, but no - he would sign Christiano Ronaldo if he had the money. He thinks Barca are the best team in the world right now too.

Quick Spurs, sign him up! He's a footballing genius.

[To be fair, the article is such an awful piece of non-news he must have made an enemy of some editor at the Beeb]

so as an ex ref was Spains goal offside?, looked v v much like it to me.

But yeah, Ari's going to be a dificult act 2 follow, for all his faults in terms of league positions he's,probably been the most successful since billy nick ,4th 5th and 4th is a dam_n good record.

Regarding the future Ok we finished fourth last year, but squad wise things are far from settled at spurs there's a bloody lot of work for the new manager to sort out, all the players on loan, the Modric situ' plus a 40 year old keeper, who wont last 4 ever, the strike force needs some extra quality and adeboy situ needs sorting,

From what i gleam villa boas hasn't got a clue about handling players, look what the prick did to anelka and alex, yeah transfer them no probs but sticking them to train with the youth team!!!!, the blokes a fool and him joining, a player exodus wouldnt surprise me.

Saying that the right man IMO, can go on and challenge for the title, but with the wrong one, imo spurs wont just stay still, they will slide into mid table obscurity. But the more I think about it, the more i'm going down the 'experienced' road, capello fits the bill for me, steady hand ect ect.

I only saw it the one time - friend of wife gabbing at the wrong time. New puppies were screaming outside at the end so I missed the wash-up replay as I went out to investigate!

The laws changed after I gave up reffing if we are talking about the guy who actually scored and the fact he was clearly in an offside position when the ball was released by the midfielder to the first attacking recipient. That in itself is only relevant in making the scorer potentially ruled offside when he touches the ball. As I understand the modern rules and interpretations, the fact that the first recipient receives the ball and decides what to do with it makes this second guy's pass to the scorer a separate movement, which is judged on its own merits. The scorer was clearly not offside in relation to the guy who passed it to him when the second movement took place. Not offside.

Some people might argue that the scorer gained an advantage by being in an advanced and offside position when the first recipient got the ball. The rules and guidance about gaining an advantage are prescriptive about what constitutes gaining an advantage and the prescribed circumstances do not include ruling someone offside just because they have been in an advanced offside position. It does actually make sense - the first recipient had time to get himself further advanced than the actual scorer so it cannot be said that the scorer gained an advantage from being where he was when the ball was passed by the midfielder (ie he would have had time to got into his scoring position anyway, so how can it be an advantage). It can also be debated whether the scorer's position distracted the defence but that is never given AFAIK where the candidate is nowhere near the direct eyeline of the last defence, as in this case.

Perhaps you were questioning a much more basic fact that the first pass was very close to offside in relation to the midfielder and the first recipient. I only saw it once and it was very close. I thought the ref's assistant may have given the benefit of the doubt to the attacker (which he should and which they seem rarely/never to have done in the Euros). It may also have been that the first recipient had an arm further forward than the second last defender. Arms don't count in offside positional decisions - only heads bodies and legs! That bit hasn't changed.

Bet you wished you hadn't asked.smile.png

I got 5 hours to replay it in my mind. The officials get less than 5 seconds! If they got it wrong on replay I would not slag them off in such a complex situation (I know that was not your intent).

yeh well fortunately you won't be picking the new manager will you

So remind me, you'd rather have Martinez who won nothing than a younger guy whose done a treble?

Complete and utter crap i'm afraid Rij, this a premier league team not some team playing at Hackney marshes on a sunday morning

But the more I think about it, the more i'm going down the 'experienced' road, capello fits the bill for me, steady hand ect ect.

1. So get rid of one 65 year old and get another one in, yeah good idea 113.gif

2. You speak about the players at chelsea not liking AVB so he's not the man, the England players were'nt too keen on Capello in case you did'nt know.

Yeah i think it would be a good idea, its a big job and imo needs an experienced hand , Capello handled the squad badly at the world cup

barring that l blip he has a managerial record for both club and country second to none ,

I'm well aware you would argue black was white at times rij.....AVB did a good job in Portugal....so I say give the laddie a chance. That's all.

I'm not sure about this appointment either but at least get behind him.
