1222 Line Keeps Dropping Out!

Featured Replies

I have a TOT line with TOT “Free” internet. The 1222 connection when it works is not too bad but drops out every couple of hours. This is OK as they say upfront that though the internet is free it will redial every 2 hours. 3bt every couple of hours I can live with.

I also use two other internet providers Samart and CSloxinfo for when TOT does not work.

Samart is on a 1222 number and keeps dropping out on a regular basis almost same as TOT while CSLox is on regular local number and hardly ever drops out. It also works out the most expensive.

Is there something going for TOT so they can control the 1222 numbers to drop out thereby generating extra revenue?

Does anyone else on dial-up 1222 number and other providers find the same problem, or is it just something with Samart?

Beachcomber.

Usually a service provider with call in lines will set an idle timeout to free a line not being used. Does it happen while you are actively using the Internet or only when you are not accessing it for a long period of time? Different providers may have different idle timeouts then others. Also check your local dialup configuration for idle timeout to make sure it is not happening on your end.

It happens when I am actively using the net.

At this end I have configured to the “never hang up”

With my dial-up line I don’t leave it connected for very long if I am not actively doing something.
