Boonsong's case files on fake G-to-G deals received by the OAG

BANGKOK: -- The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) on Monday delivered the case files on fake government-to-government rice deals implicating former commerce minister Boonsong Teriyaphirom and 20 other associates to the Office of Attorney-General for consideration.

NACC assistant secretary-general Sakchai Methineephisarnkul said that the case files are made up of altogether 204,000 pages of documents contained in 59 crates which was handed over to Mr Wanchai Rujanawong, spokesman of the OAG and director of Public Prosecution Department, and Mr Chutichai Sakhakorn, director-general of the Office of Special Cases.

Mr Sakchai said that the files delivered on Monday concerned only government officials and members of the private sector whose investigation by the NACC has already been completed and there are still more files for those still pending the investigation.

He expected the OAG would take some time to digest all the documents already delivered.

But Mr Wanchai assured that his staff would spend about a month to study the files. He said he did not feel heavy-hearted at all about this case because it was a corruption case and was different from the one pending against former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

somebody goes to jail any time ?

Probably not.. in general the major players are spared because else they would always be at risk with a government change. I think there is some unspoken deal that the big players never go to jail but some underlings get sacrificed.

Boonsong goose is cooked. With Thailand warm relations with China, the Chinese government will not tolerate any one in their government trying to cover up for this guy nor Thaksin for that matter.

China will not be thrown under a bus for such a low life.

If they can nail him YL will look even weaker and there is a bigger chance she too will enjoy punishment.

Ah we can only dream that the people responsible for the 700 billin bt loss will be brought to justice.

240,000 pages of documents with more to come.

According to the report in the BKK post the 'more to come' are mainly to do with companies involved in the fake deals, and hopefully money trails.

It would seem the NACC have done a thorough investigation since the Democrats first took their evidence to them after the no confidence debate in 2012.

I remember PT laughing at Democrat MP Varong Dejkitvikrom when he came forward with the evidence that the G 2 G deals were fake and Boonsong saying that he would not investigate what buyers did with rice.

I wonder how that defense will hold up and who will be laughing now.

Anyone believing that the PTP is democratic should be reading this. They ignored corruption hid it and refused to investigate it. They actually laughed and threatened people who came out with information about the rice scam.

How can anyone think that voting would have solved this.. they were in power and used their power to shield themselves from investigations.

Your are spot on but don't hold your breath waiting for them to accept the facts. Either they can't read, don't read, don't want to know or when the evidence is a strong as it appears to be, they just will not respond. If they do, it will only be BS rhetoric because they cannot provide a genuine response. You should know if it was black, despite the evidence, they would always tell you that it is white.
