Prayut orders flag pole to be erected in Government House

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has instructed PM's Secretary General Gen Wilas Aroonsri to build a 30-metre-tall flag pole on the lawn in front of the Santi Maitree Building inside the Government House compound, an aide of the prime minister, Maj Gen Wirachon Sukhonthapatipak said.


The pole will be designed by the Fine Arts Department and built by the Army with the budget of Bt1 million.

Earthquake measuring 6.2 magnitude strikes off southern Japan - USGS

SYDNEY (Reuters) - An earthquake measuring 6.2 magnitude struck off southern Japan on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said.


The quake, with its epicentre around 290 kms (175 miles) southeast of Hachijo-jima, Izu Islands, struck at a depth of 65kms (38 miles).

BMA waits for PM's order on Phadung Krung Kasem development

BANGKOK: -- The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is awaiting an official instruction from the prime minister before it will develop Klong Phadhum Krung Kasem as a cultural tourism route, BMA deputy city clerk Adisak Khandee said.


He said the canal is not suitable for passenger boats but it is good for tourist boats to enjoy views along the canal.

Abhisit ready to prove innocence in NACC impeachment bid

NLA to cast impeachment votes on 38 ex-senators March 13
